VETERANS

REST, RENEW, RETURN STRONG

WHY IT MATTERS

Texas is home to over 1.5 million Veterans, the largest Veteran population of any state. Many carry invisible burdens long after their service.

THE CHALLENGE IS URGENT

  • In 2022, 6,407 Veterans died by suicide in the U.S. (an average of 17.6 per day).
  • Overall, the suicide rate among Veterans is more than 1.5× that of non-Veteran adults; for female Veterans, the rate was ~92% higher than for non-Veteran women in 2022.

  • Among Veterans using VA care in FY2024, ~14% of men and ~24% of women had a PTSD diagnosis—conditions that can improve with rest, peer support, and resources.

OUR SOLUTION

1. Create a place to rest and reset.

Create a space where first responders can lay down the weight of their duties to slow down, feel seen, and be supported.

2. Connect them to others.

Connecting first responders strengthens their relationships and builds a supportive network that carries them beyond their time of rest.

3. Equip them with resources.

We walk alongside veterans by connecting them with trusted resources such as Disabled American Veterans (DAV), VA hospital resources including counseling and local support groups, practical books on mental health and resilience, and spiritual guidance that encourages healing and growth beyond their service.
