About Still Waters
What is Still Waters Retreat, and who is it for?
Still Waters Retreat is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to providing rest, renewal, and long-term restoration for those who carry the weight of serving others. We serve Police Officers, Firefighters and EMS Professionals, Veterans, and Pastors and Ministry Leaders – men and women who are consistently strong for everyone else but rarely given space to slow down and be cared for themselves. This is not a program. It is a place where individuals can step away from constant demands, process what they have been carrying, and begin moving toward health in their lives, families, and leadership.

About Retreats
Who runs or leads the retreats?
Each retreat is led by a designated host who has personal or professional experience in ministry or service-related fields. Hosts are carefully selected for their ability to create a peaceful, encouraging, and spiritually grounded environment. Before every retreat, our team spends intentional time in prayer and fasting, covering each guest, the property, and the experience itself. We believe preparation in prayer is just as important as preparation on the ground.
How do I nominate someone for a retreat?
To nominate someone, visit our Nomination Page and complete the form provided. Once submitted, our team will review the nomination and reach out if your nominee is selected to attend.
How are nominees selected to attend?
All nominations are prayerfully reviewed by our board and leadership. We consider both submitted nominations and trusted referrals from chaplains, department leaders, and ministry networks. Our goal is to bring together the right group of people at the right time, and we take that seriously. Decisions are made with prayer, discernment, and a genuine desire to serve those who need it most.
What is the cost for guests to attend?
There is absolutely no cost for guests. All meals, lodging, activities, resources, and gift baskets are completely covered through the generosity of our donors and partners. Guests simply need to show up.
How long do retreats typically last?
Each retreat is typically two nights and three days. We understand that Police Officers, Firefighters and EMS Professionals, Veterans, and Pastors and Ministry Leaders have limited time away from their responsibilities. We designed the retreat length to give guests enough time to truly rest and decompress without requiring an extended commitment.
What can guests expect to experience while they’re there?
Guests can expect an environment built around rest, honest conversation, and genuine connection. The experience is intentionally unhurried. There is space for laughter and fun, shared meals, outdoor time, and real conversations that go deeper than surface level. We also create space for reflection and prayer, and on the final night, guests are prayed over individually for both their personal and professional lives before returning home. This is not a seminar or a program. It is a place to breathe, be honest, and be cared for.
What do guests need to bring with them?
Pack as you would for a relaxed weekend away. Comfortable clothing for the day, something a little nicer for dinner, and any personal toiletries or essentials. Everything else will be provided for you.
